Lesson 5 – part 2
Now exactly what does it mean to live the spiritual life? It doesn’t mean that we have to give up anything in the material world. No, while we may not be of this world, we’re certainly in it, so let’s make our experience here the greatest and grandest possible, which can only be done with the acknowledgement of our only Self as the mind, law and activity of or being.
“All is Spirit, spiritual Mind; there is no other Selfhood, no Presence but the One.” Our commitment to living the spiritual life must begin by recognizing the one power, the power within, and giving no power to the effects in the outer world. There must be a giving up of the old ways of thinking, with total reliance on the Presence within for everything. It is keeping our mind focused on our God-Self, the only Self, with intense love and gratitude. And “misperceptions will be corrected and illuminations will be inevitable.” It is keeping our hands off this world and letting the hands of God show us the Reality behind the illusion of scarcity and limitation. It is total abandonment to the will of God.
Living the spiritual life is not only recognizing the Divine Presence in ourselves – but in everyone. Consider every person as their Divine Identity.
Remember it is our awareness-of-Consciousness that opens the door for the work to be done. What we are conscious of is forever in expression, eternally out-picturing our convictions about ourselves, God, and life. And when our conscious awareness is in the spiritual vibration, as opposed to the disharmony of ego, that which is manifest in the visible world is the Reality of Spirit and not the projection of illusion.
Continue with the thoughts in Lesson 5 and meditate on those words.
